MSU ILS harvested 141 medals in three categories, other awards

Mindanao State University- Integrated Laboratory Schools (MSU-ILS) Assistant Dean Professor Aba-Conding had announced during the MSU administration flag ceremony that ILS was one of the most acknowledged and recognized Applauded participating schools in the recent concluded City Schools Divisiion of Marawi City Meet held on March 2-6 ,2023e with the theme “Strengthening Vital Components Gearing towards Moral Governance”, Top Officials said.

Conding said that our delegation was manned with 38 coaches and 205 athletes or players, anchored by the MSU-ILS Marching Band,that ILS dominated the cheers and yells of the crowd during the closing and awarding of the said event.

The young players showed laudable performances as manifested by the awards they received which they dedicated to ILS. In fact, AD Aba-Conding further announced that ILS won 47 gold medals, 59 silver medals, and 35 bronze medals. Moreover, ILS was awarded special awards such as Best in Salute, Best in Parade, and Most Disciplined. The major awards were over-all first runner up for the elementary category and over-all first runner up for the secondary category.

AD Aba-Conding expressed her appreciation to all the hardworking and active ILS coaches, the supportive parents, and the athletes for their determination and sportsmanship. Most especially, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the support of the MSU administration headed by no other than the MSU System president himself, a product of ILS education, President Basari D. Mapupuno.

Likewise, she extended her thanks to the City Schools Division of Marawi City family for their warm welcome headed by the kind-hearted Schools Division Superintendent Anna Zenaida Unte and the energetic Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Sobaida Diron Ampuan.

Indeed, ILS exemplified camaraderie, unity, and sportsmanship during the CSDMC Meet 2023.

To all the ILS athletes, coaches, officials who have help us in one way or another, Congratulations As reported earlier, the opening program 5-day althletic activities of the City Meet 2023 was held at the Mindanao State University -Lanao National College of Arts and Trades (MSU-LNCAT). The meet was participated by both public and private schools , to incluide SUCs schools OICSDS Dr. Anna Zenaida U. Alonto and ASD Dr. Sobaida A. Ampuan banged the gong with signified the formal declaration of the competition of different athletic events. The Meet was executed for the Palarong BARMMAA 2023.

During the closing program of the division meet, Alonto being the overal chairman ,gave a word of challenge to all the athletes ,she also underscored the importance of sports in providing the Bangsamoro learners with balance and holistic education. She added that there many fring benefits of being a sportpersons, so winning and losing in a sport is not all that important, but the happpiness, memories and lesson it teaches are the truly trophies.

Meantime, Dr. Sobaida D. Ampuan , president of the Marawi Athletics Associations, thanked PESS Supervisor Hedjara Taratingan, officiating officials , tournament managers, coaches, athletes and all participating schools both pubic and SUcs, for all their enthusiasm ,hardwork, and preparations.

MP Sultan Marjanie Macasalong and former senatorial candidate Samira Gutoc were thanked and applauded for their words of inspiration , for surely the athletes have taken something useful that they will bring as they move forward in life.(With report Saliha Macacuna)
