Manila, Philippines – May 22, 2025 — Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon has formally submitted his courtesy resignation, aligning with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s recent call for all Cabinet secretaries to offer their resignations as part of a planned government recalibration.

The development was confirmed through reports by Andrea Taguines of ABS-CBN News. Dizon’s submission makes him one of the first high-ranking officials to publicly comply with the President’s directive following the midterm elections.
Dizon, who previously served as presidential adviser and played a key role in infrastructure initiatives, has been leading major transportation modernization efforts. His resignation signals the beginning of potential changes within the administration’s executive team.
The courtesy resignation is part of Marcos’ broader effort to review the performance of his Cabinet and ensure alignment with national goals during the second half of his term. Officials have emphasized that the move is performance-based and not a purge.
The Palace has yet to confirm whether President Marcos will accept Dizon’s resignation or reappoint him.
