Kris Aquino visited Bahay Pangulo in Malacañang Park on Friday at the invitation of First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos for what was described as a belated birthday lunch.
Malacañang serves as the official residence of the first family. The visit also marked a return to a place that once held personal significance for Aquino. She previously stayed there with her sons, Josh and Bimby, for about six months during the presidency of her late brother, Benigno Aquino III. According to accounts of the gathering, Aquino had not visited the Palace since 2016.

The lunch was arranged by fashion designer Michael Leyva, a close friend of both Aquino and the first lady. The gathering was described as a small and private meeting among friends and acquaintances.
During the lunch, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. briefly appeared and greeted Aquino. Reports from the event said the two exchanged warm greetings. The President did not stay long but reportedly told Aquino that she was looking “really well” before leaving.
Aquino has been publicly sharing updates about her health in recent months. She is currently undergoing treatment for several autoimmune diseases, including Fibromyalgia, Polymyositis, and Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. Last month, Aquino was discharged from the hospital after spending six weeks under medical care. She previously said that she intends to discuss her health challenges in greater detail once the #KrisPodcast becomes available for viewing and listening.
In a message shared earlier, Aquino described her current condition as a continuing medical journey and said that experts would help explain her illnesses and treatment when the podcast is released. She also reflected on her situation, saying that every day she is given is simply “borrowed time.”
The lunch at Malacañang marked a rare public update involving Aquino following her recent hospitalization, while also highlighting a personal visit connected to her past time living in the residence during her brother’s administration.
