TALISAYAN, Misamis Oriental – Mayor Rico T. Taray is hoping the opening of zipline in his municipality will not only boost tourism but also help develop economy in his hometown.
The mayor said many people will benefit from this zipline that will eventually increase tourism in the municipality, with the total support given by Governor Peter M. Unabia and his son 2nd District Congressman Christian Unabia.
“Akong kinasingkasing nga pasalamat ni Governor Peter Unabia ug sa iyang anak, Congressman Christian Unabia,” Mayor Taray said.
Vice Mayor Rommel C. Maslog also thanked Governor Unabia for his non-nonsense leadership to help the province achieve single digit record in poverty reduction program.
“Bulaham kita nga nakabaton ug gobernador nga adunay panlantaw ug tinud-anay nga vision para sa atong lungsod. Realtalk, daghan na ug nangagi nga gobernador ug lainlain ang ilang management style. Apan kini karon nakita nato nga tinud-anay,” Vice Mayor Maslog said.

According to Project Engr. Andrew R. Babia the zipline when completed will the longest in Mindanao or even in the whole country, with a 2 kilometers long from its departure to arrival site. It will have a total cost of P49,942,376.25, and will be finished in 348 calendar days, it was learned.
“Zipline lang lage na but eventually makita nimo dako ang iyang matabang sa atong lungsod,” VM Maslog said.
The domino effect of this zipline project, Maslog said, will be huge as far as the economic development of Talisayan town.
