Governor Go appoints Pol Balandra as Assistant Governor for Zone 1

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Rotary International District 3870 Governor-elect Gilda “Gigi” Go has appointed HIPOLITO “POL” BALANDRA of the Rotary Club of West Cagayan de Oro, as Assistant Governor for RY 2023-2024.

“MEET ASSISTANT GOVERNOR HIPOLITO “POL” BALANDRA. AG Pol was President of the Rotary Club of West Cagayan de Oro for Rotary year 2020-2021.

He worked at Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) as Assistant Vice President from August 1991 to present.  AG Pol holds an Accounting & Finance Degree from Capitol University.

“Thank you AG POL for accepting the appointment,” DGE Go said.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Rotary is an international service organization that aims to bring together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards, and promote goodwill and peace worldwide. The Assistant Governor is a key member of the Rotary leadership team, tasked with supporting and supervising the work of local Rotary clubs within their assigned district.

The duties and responsibilities of an Assistant Governor in Rotary can be divided into several areas, including club support, membership growth, strategic planning, and leadership development. One of the primary responsibilities of an Assistant Governor is to provide support and guidance to the local Rotary clubs within their district. This includes regular communication with club leaders, attending club meetings and events, and providing assistance with club projects and initiatives.

Membership growth is also a key responsibility of an Assistant Governor. They are expected to work with club leaders to develop strategies for attracting new members and retaining current members. This may involve organizing membership drives, facilitating networking opportunities, and providing training and resources to help clubs improve their outreach efforts.

In addition to club support and membership growth, an Assistant Governor plays a key role in strategic planning for their district. They are responsible for ensuring that clubs are aligned with the overall goals and objectives of Rotary International and that they are working together to achieve these goals. This may involve coordinating district-wide projects and initiatives, developing partnerships with other organizations, and ensuring that clubs are properly following Rotary policies and procedures.

Finally, an Assistant Governor is responsible for developing leadership within their district. They work closely with club leaders to identify potential leaders and provide training and mentorship to help them develop their skills and abilities. This includes organizing leadership training programs, providing resources and support for new club presidents, and fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork within the district.
