President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. arrived at the Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport in Tacloban on Friday, where he was warmly welcomed by Mayor Alfred Romualdez and House Speaker Martin Romualdez. The President’s visit to Tacloban is in line with his scheduled leadership of the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas rally at the Libertad Plaza in Tacloban City tonight.
The Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport, where the President arrived, is currently undergoing major upgrades to meet international standards. The airport’s modernization is part of President Marcos Jr.’s P7.7-billion Aviation Infrastructure Program, which aims to boost tourism and economic growth in Eastern Visayas.
The project is expected to be completed by 2026, two years before the end of the President’s term
