‘UniTeam or Not, It Will Be the Same’: Palace Stands Firm on Assisting Interpol in Duterte Arrest

Malacañang has reiterated its commitment to upholding the law, stating that its decision to assist Interpol in the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte will remain unchanged, regardless of political circumstances.

Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro emphasized that the government will abide by the law, saying “We will just follow the law… Whether there’s UniTeam or not, it will be the same.”

Castro also underscored that the government will not grant special treatment based on personal relationships, ensuring that everyone is held accountable under the law.

The Palace’s stance comes amidst the ongoing developments in Duterte’s case, with the International Criminal Court (ICC) investigating allegations of crimes against humanity during his presidency.
