Vice President Sara Duterte emphasized that the country’s problems do not stem from her family, particularly her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte. This statement came after she expressed gratitude to supporters of her father, who recently faced the Pre-Trial Chamber I of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Former President Duterte is currently detained at the ICC detention center in The Hague, Netherlands, where he will stand trial for his alleged involvement in the “war on drugs” during his administration. The confirmation of charges against Duterte is set for September 23, 2025.
