State health insurer PhilHealth and the Philippine Medical Association (PMA) and its various medical societies have joined together in a “technical conference” on March 23 to further cement their partnership to ensure that patients’ healthcare needs are adequately provided and paid for through social health insurance.
The said meeting also aims to thresh out issues and concerns affecting accreditation, processing and payment of claims filed by healthcare providers from different parts of the country, Konsulta package inclusions, among others.
The participants were also briefed on the latest developments on the implementation of Universal Health Care law, enhancements on benefit packages despite the suspension of the legislated contribution schedule for 2023, and updates on operations and claims benefit processing.
The meeting was made possible through the efforts of House Committee on Health Chair Hon. Ciriaco B. Gato, Jr. (Lone District, Batanes) and PMA President Dr. Maria Minerva P. Calimag, and hosted by the Office of the Vice President for Area 2 under Walter R. Bacareza.
