They were Phinma criminology dean at large Dr. Manuel Jaudian, National Police Commission (Napolcom) 10 director Atty. Robert Lou Elango and P/Col. Henry Cay-as.

Jaudian said the criminology program at Phinma-COC is the best in this part of Mindanao since it is among only two tertiary institutions in the island recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (Ched) as center of excellence for criminology.

For his part, Cay-as said even criminology programs from other colleges all over the northern part of Mindanao are recruiting criminologists who graduate from Phinma-COC to serve as faculty of their own educational institutions.

The celebration will continue on Sunday with the recognition of 54 criminology alumna in the sub-fields of academe, law enforcement/public safety, government sector and private sector.

The criminology program at COC started in 1976 and has produced countless topnotchers ever since but most especially when it was integrated under the Phinma Education Network through the steerage of then Dean Jaudian and the incumbent one, Dr. Gerry Cano.
