BY : DG MARLOWE SELECIOS

Today, I took my oath of office as District Governor of Rotary International District 3870.

I took my oath before outgoing District Governor (DG) Hubert Quiblat at the sidelines of the Rotary International Convention in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in the presence of my family and fellow Rotarians from our District.

Although the Office of the DG is one I deeply respect and highly esteem, it does not make me, or anybody privileged enough to hold it, better than any other Rotarian.

By the start of my term on the 1st of July 2025, I will remain a volunteer, like the rest of us, trying my best to help and impact the lives of others in our communities through Rotary.

However, true to my oath, I will perform the duties of my Office to the best of my abilities. This means inspiring Clubs to achieve the goals we set in our District Action Plan and motivating Rotarians to become, and remain, people of action who create lasting change in our communities.

Together, we will strengthen the District, engage our Members, create vibrant Clubs, collaborate with the Youth, give more to our Foundation, and do sustainable Service Projects.

While I am aware of the challenges our District faces, I remain undaunted, confident of our collective strength to Unite for Good and achieve our goals. For we are Rotarians and, like those who came before us, we shall succeed!
