Mindanao State University General Santos commenced the year with a spectacular Year-Starter Thanksgiving event, held at the MSU CETD Covered Court on January 12, 2024. The night was filled with lively games, heartfelt acknowledgments, and recognitions, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and gratitude, Top Officials said.
Chancellor JD Usman D. Aragasi MPA warmly welcomed attendees in his opening address, expressing gratitude for the collective efforts of the faculty and staff that contributed to the university’s achievements over the years.
In a special note, he extended heartfelt thanks to retirees, stating, “We owe you what we have tonight, and this program is yours.”
The event continued with an insightful accomplishment report, showcasing the university’s significant milestones, followed by the much awaited raffle draw. The night also featured the recognition of long-serving individuals, with service awards presented to those who dedicatedly served the university for 20 to 40 years.
The same recognition was also given to the retirees who have gracefully left their posts in the university. In a solemn tradition, posthumous recognition was given to employees who have sadly departed.
The pinnacle of the evening was the ‘Talentadong MSUAN’ competition where three teams showcased their talents, with “Yesterday’s Once More” from the MSU College campus emerging as the champions. The faculty and staff from CETD secured the second spot, and the School of Graduate Studies team clinched the third position.
The awarding ceremony concluded with the recognition of the best-dressed participants dubbed as ‘Ladies and Gentlemen of the Night.’
The celebration culminated in a lively dance party, where the faculty and staff of MSU rejoiced in their achievements, fostered connections across departments, and eagerly embraced the promise of a brighter new year. The Year-Starter Thanksgiving Faculty and Staff Night truly embodied the spirit of gratitude and optimism at MSU Gensan.
