TALISAYAN, Misamis Oriental – Incumbent Mayor of this town Rico T. Taray has filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) yesterday, October 1, 2024, 1PM, aiming to get re-elected and continue his first term legacy as far as his programs of government.
Mayor Taray filed his candidacy at the local Comelec office again under the Paglaum – Padayon Pilipino local party which also recently coalesced with Lakas CMD of the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos.
Mayor Taray was also joined by his vice mayoralty candidate Gremer O Ramoga. He was also joined by his candidates for municipal councilors Don Luis Sumanpan, Joveline Asuncion, Ric Llemit, Majella Simene Asupan, Raffy Mendoza, Minda Caguil, Henry “Badok” Macalib-og, George Ortiz. VM Ramoga is also seeking re-election and majority of the municipal councilors.
Thousands of Mayor Taray’s supporters attended the filing of COC to show their support and solidarity to the incumbent leadership, it was learned.
The mayor was confident he would win again for his second term although no one has filed for the same position. “Nagatoo kita nga modaug gihapon kita sa sunod election kay bisan ang kanhi mga opposition councilors ania niuban naman sa atong bando tungod kay misalig sila sa atong mga programa para sa katawhan sa Talisayan,” the mayor pointed out.
The filing of candidacies of all the local leaders in Talisayan town under the Paglaum-Padayon Pilipino Party was also graced by no less than Governor Peter “Sr. Pedro” M. Unabia and his son, First District Congressman Christian S. Unabia, Vice Governor Jeremy Jonahmar “Jigjag” Pelaez and all top leaders of the province Sangguniang Bayan Members Marlon Kho, Robert de Lara, Jabi Bernaldez, Roy Aniscal and Rommel Maslog.
“Atong dakong suporta sa gipahigayong Filing of Candidacy para sa Election 2025 ngadto sa bandong PAGLAUM ug PADAYON PILIPINO sa lungsod sa Talisayan para masiguro nato nga ang serbisyo ug pagpangalagad dala sa PAGLAUM kanunay nga matagamtaman sa tanang dapit sa probinsya,” was the message of Governor Unabia.
Governor Unabia said he is fully supporting the candidacy of Mayor Taray and his team, as they have all shown worthwhile leadership following the agenda of the governor.
“That’s why we are here because of our full support to the good leadership of the Mayor Taray and his team. Myself and my son First District Congressman are giving our 100 percent support to the incumbent mayor,” the governor said.
