TALISAYAN, Misamis Oriental – First District Congressman Christian S. Unabia has called on all electorates to support the team of Mayor Taray again so that all projects that they have started would be completed.
Unabia said Mayor Rico T. Taray is a very dependable leader of the town, so that Governor Peter “Sr. Pedro” M. Unabia and him included, give their full support to the re-election of the mayor.
Through the help of the governor and First District congressional office, the mayor was able to implement road concreting projects, water system, covered courts and a lot more.
“Maabtik ang inyong mayor busa angayan lamang nga atong isalig kaniya pag usab ang pagdumala sa lungsod uban sa yang bise mayor ug mga councilors, atong ihatag ang makabubuhong sa suporta sa umalabot nga elections,” the congressman said, adding that giving Mayor Taray his second term in office would mean completing all his projects and implementing more for the benefit of the people of Talisayan.
Meanwhile, the mayor listed his finished and ongoing projects as follows:
1. 100-million water development project. Mayor Taray announced that since the water system is one of the perennial problems in his locality, he is doing a lot to establish water supplies in more barangays of Talisayan town.
2. 117-million Victorico Serina Sports Complex. With the help of Congressman Christian S. Unabia, the ambitious sports complex will be started. Although, the mayor said, the funds will be on staggered basis. “Finally, we can start this project next month with the starting funds coming from local funds,” he said.
3. Tourism Projects. For the purposes of inviting opportunities for livelihood and economic activities, Mayor Taray gave emphasis on more tourism projects, with the help of the provincial government and first District Congressman Christian S. Unabia.
The development of a zipline and paragliding sites in Talisayan were among major projects of the mayor with the active support of Governor Unabia, it was learned.
Governor Unabia allocated P50-million from the provincial coffers to develop the zipline and paragliding sites in Talisayan town. In fact, last April 26-30, 2023 paragliding competition was already held in Talisayan, participated by six countries of the world.
The mayor also reported the current development of Bolok-bolok Spring and Sipaka View Deck, which are touted to become the next destinations in the country and other parts of the world.
“The challenge is not easy but isip usa ka amahan 6,637 households and 29,131 individuals as of 2022 PSA record, with open arms and humility, the challenge is accepted.”
