MISAMIS ORIENTAL – As the 2025 local elections approach, Governor Peter “Sr. Pedro” M. Unabia has taken the lead in officially presenting the party’s candidates in Misamis Oriental. In a well-attended event on Sunday, September 29,2024 At Amaya View Cagayan de Oro City Unabia gathered key political figures, party supporters, and community leaders to unveil the slate of candidates vying for various provincial and municipal positions in the upcoming elections.
Governor Unabia, who has long been a prominent figure in Misamis Oriental politics, emphasized the importance of unity and teamwork among the party members as they head into the campaign season. “Our candidates are committed to serving the people of Misamis Oriental. We will work together to ensure that we continue the progress we have made over the years,” he said in his speech.
The event highlighted the candidates running for key positions, including the gubernatorial, vice-gubernatorial, and municipal mayoral races. Each candidate took the stage to express their commitment to advancing the province’s growth and addressing the needs of local communities.
Unabia also laid out the party’s platform, focusing on infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and livelihood programs. He stressed the importance of addressing the pressing concerns of Misamis Oriental residents, especially in rural areas, by ensuring that resources are distributed equitably.
Political analysts view Unabia’s endorsement as pivotal in shaping the local political landscape. With his strong influence and proven track record, many believe that the candidates he supports are well-positioned for success.
Meanwhile, Cong Christian S. Unabia, in his speech, challenged party leaders to unite and help in achieving the governors main thrust which is single digit poverty incidence (SDPI) program.
The congressman said this ultimate goal is now working with lots of projects and programs implemented by the governor, with the help of the Congressional Offices of Cong “Bambi” Emano and his own office.
Congressman Yevgeny “Bambi” Emano also reiterated his support to the SDPI program of the provincial governor.
“We at Padayon Pilipino now currently lead by President and Tagoloan Mayor Nadia Emano is fully supportive of the SDPI program of Governor Peter Unabia,” he said.
The 2025 local elections in Misamis Oriental are expected to be highly competitive, with political parties gearing up for a fierce battle to secure key positions across the province.
The political activity was also attended by PAGLAUM and Padayon Pilipino Lakas CMD leaders namely Vice Gov. Jeremy Jonahmar “Jigjag” Pelaez, Cong. Christian S. Unabia first District, Cong. Yevgeny Vincente “ Bambi” Emano 2nd district, Board Members, mayors, vice mayors, municipal councilors and party leaders. ###
