“PANAGHIUSA alang sa mas maayong kaugmaon sa mga estudyante.”
This was the message of Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy during the turnover ceremony of the new three-story, nine-classroom smart schoolbuilding at Carmen National High School on Friday, July 31.
The smart schoolbuilding, worth more than ₱50 million, was constructed using durable, high-quality materials to ensure the safety and stability of the facility.
The ground floor includes a storage room and a data cabinet that houses the school’s CCTV monitoring system.
The entire building is also equipped with a complete electrical system and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Each classroom features tiled flooring, a chalkboard and whiteboard, two sets of tables, 35 armchairs with built-in compartments and its own comfort room.
To support digital learning, every classroom is equipped with computers, a projector and a smart TV.
The building also includes a fire protection system, fire alarms, smoke detectors, a generator set, a water pump and water storage tanks to ensure a continuous water supply for the school.
During the event, classroom officers also took their oath of office, pledging to work alongside the school administration in maintaining and protecting the classrooms entrusted to them.
The program’s highlights included the blessing of the new building, the ceremonial turnover of the school key and the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The facility was formally accepted by school principal Maurita Donasco, together with the teachers and students of Carmen National High School.
Also expressing his gratitude was Carmen barangay chairman Rainier Joaquin “Kikang-Kapkik” Uy, who emphasized the importance of the project for the students of barangay Carmen.
The turnover ceremony was attended by members of the City Council, officials from the DepEd Division of Cagayan de Oro led by Dr. Roy Angelo Gazo, department managers, members of the Carmen barangay council, the Local School Board, teachers and students of Carmen National High School.
