MANILA, Philippines — First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos met with representatives from the Girl Scouts of the Philippines at her office in Manila on Tuesday, reaffirming her commitment to youth empowerment and leadership development.

Photos from the meeting, shared on Marcos’ social media account, showed her engaging with the young scouts and their leaders in a discussion about their ongoing initiatives and future projects.

The engagement comes in the wake of rumors alleging that the First Lady had been detained in Los Angeles, California. However, Malacañang swiftly dismissed these claims, clarifying that Marcos had been in the United States to attend a series of events, including the Meeting of the Minds conference and the Manila International Film Festival.

“The First Lady was in the U.S. for official engagements and has since returned to the country. Any reports suggesting otherwise are completely false,” a Palace spokesperson stated.

Marcos’ meeting with the Girl Scouts underscores her continued public engagements despite the circulating rumors. She has been actively involved in various advocacies, particularly those focusing on education, youth development, and cultural initiatives.

A Strong Commitment to Youth Programs

The Girl Scouts of the Philippines, a long-standing organization dedicated to developing leadership and life skills among young Filipinas, expressed their gratitude for the First Lady’s support.

“The First Lady’s encouragement is a huge boost to our mission of empowering young girls through education, service, and leadership,” said a representative from the organization.

As speculation over her recent trip subsides, Marcos continues to fulfill her role with public appearances and engagements, reinforcing her commitment to national and social causes.
