The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office XIII – Caraga as Chair of the Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Illegal Drugs (ICAD) Advocacy Cluster holds the BuhayIngatan, Droga’yAyawan (BIDA) Creative Painting Contest on March 3, 2023 at the Local Governance Regional Resource Center of DILG Regional Office, Brgy. Doongan, Butuan City.
The DILG, as Chair of the Regional Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) Advocacy Cluster has initiated this Creative Painting Contest to showcase the talents of young minds on how the problem on illegal drugs be resolved and how this can be addressed by portraying through creative artistry.
Contestants representing the four (4) Provinces and one (1) HUC in the region showcased their artistic talent to portray and convey the holistic message of the flagship program of the Department – BuhayIngatan, Droga’yAyawan (BIDA) with the theme: “BIDA Laban saDroga”.
The guidelines of the Creative Painting Contest was one entry per Province and HUC. Only the Provinces of Agusan del Norte, Agusandel Sur, Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Sur; and the Highly-Urbanized City of Butuan battled in the Creative Painting Contest through their artists:
- Province of Agusan del Norte: Ms. Aura M. Alfeche from Mindanao Institute – UCCP, Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte
- Province of Agusan del Sur:Mr. Dervie Evan R. Zape
- Province of Surigao del Sur:Mr. Richard T. Banguiz
- Province of Dinagat Islands: Mr. Edilberto F. Daligdig, Jr. from Tag-abaca National High School, Basilisa, Dinagat Islands
- Butuan City (HUC): Ms. Shane Recomata from Caraga State University, Ampayon, Butuan City
The event was supported by the Philippine National Police PRO XIII – Caraga, Provincial Government of Agusan del Norte and Butuan City.
Judging of the Creative Painting will be conducted at a later date while the awarding of winners will be announced during the BIDA Grand Regional Launching and Rollout for the Province of Agusan del Norte and Butuan City on May 13, 2023.
BIDA Program is pursuant to Executive Order No. 66 (Institutionalizing Philippine Anti- illegal Drugs Strategy or PADS) in line with the current administration’s commitment to continue the campaign against illegal drugs. BIDA aims to raise awareness and encourage community participation in drug demand reduction.
