The chief of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has admitted to ordering the blockage of Vice President Sara Duterte’s entry into Villamor Air Base on Tuesday, March 11. This revelation comes as the CIDG continues to face scrutiny over its actions.
The CIDG has been in the spotlight recently, with PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil directing its new director, Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III, to lead a full-scale internal cleanup to restore the group’s integrity and rebuild public confidence.
