BONG REVILLA WARNS VS FAKE NEWS: CONDEMNS MALICIOUS FAKE POST AGAINST FILIPINO MUSLIMS

SENATOR Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr. on Friday (March 21) warned the public against the proliferation of fake news after he vehemently condemned the recent circulation of a malicious and fabricated post on social media platform Facebook that falsely attributes to him an offensive statement against Filipino Muslims.

The post, that was created during the 2019 elections and has since been proven false, was previously traced to have originated from a troll farm engaged by political operators.

Bong Revilla, Sultan Aadil or Prince of Justice of the Sultanate of Rajah Buayan IV in Mindanao, said the same operators are re-using the same lie in an attempt to mislead muslims especially now during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

They are attempting to deceive our brothers and sisters lalo pa sa banal na panahong ito ng Ramadan,” the lawmaker said.

We have been through a lot together, at patuloy tayong magiging magkasama sa hinaharap,” the solon assured.

“Ito ay isang desperado at maruming paraan upang sirain ang pangalan ko at pag-awayin ang ating mga kababayan,” he explained citing the circumstances surrounding the post’s resurgence.

Bong Revilla, known for his strong stance on unity and inclusivity, emphasized that he has always regarded Filipino Muslims as his brothers. Throughout his years in public service, he has consistently supported policies and initiatives that uplift Muslim communities and promote their welfare.

The lawmaker urges the public to be vigilant against the spread of fake news and calls on authorities to take action against those responsible for disseminating the defamatory content. He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to fostering unity and upholding the dignity of every Filipino, regardless of faith or background.
