Malacanang has reiterated its call for lawyer Harry Roque to return to the Philippines and face allegations against him. This development comes after Roque’s recent dismissal from former President Rodrigo Duterte’s legal team
Roque, who previously served as Duterte’s spokesperson, has been embroiled in several controversies, including allegations of links to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) and a qualified human trafficking case filed against him.
The Palace’s urging for Roque’s return highlights the government’s desire to address the allegations against him and ensure accountability. Roque’s current whereabouts are unclear, but it is reported that he has sought asylum in the Netherlands, citing his need to defend Duterte in the International Criminal Court (ICC).
