BOC Renames Port of Dadiangas to General Santos

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Dadiangas has been renamed to Port of General Santos through Customs Memorandum Circular (CMC) No. 3-2023 dated February 15, 2023, to give due recognition to the port as the primary gateway for international trade in General Santos City and Region XII. Notably, “Dadiangas” is a name given by the nomadic Blaan Tribe, who inhabited the area of what is now General Santos.

The Port’s area of responsibility is comprised of the provinces of Cotabato, Sarangani, South Cotabato, and Sultan Kudarat. Its principal office is in General Santos City, the center for trade and industry of the Soccsksargen Region, and one of the international gateways to the ASEAN and other global markets.

In line with Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio’s thrust to efficiently administer the collection of taxes and facilitate trade in a secured manner, BOC Collection District XII, under the leadership of District Collector Erastus Sandino B. Austria, will continue to initiate reforms to ensure the highest quality of service for its clients.
