“A Timeless Landmark of Elegance and History”

Few hotels in the Philippines can lay claim to the legacy and prestige of The Manila Hotel. Established in 1912, this iconic structure has stood as a silent witness to Philippine history, hosting royalty, presidents, dignitaries, and global figures across generations. Situated along Roxas Boulevard and adjacent to Manila Bay, it remains a living symbol of both Filipino resilience and timeless elegance.

Its walls echo the nation’s triumphs and tragedies. Severely damaged during World War II, The Manila Hotel was among the many landmarks that bore the scars of destruction. Yet, like the Filipino spirit, it rose from the ashes, restored to its former grandeur and reestablished as the country’s premier address for dignified hospitality.

Among its most famous attractions is the MacArthur Suite, the residence of General Douglas MacArthur when he served as Military Advisor to the Commonwealth Government of the Philippines in the 1930s. This suite, now available for private stays and scheduled tours, remains a highlight for guests and history enthusiasts alike, offering a glimpse into the life and era of one of the war’s most prominent figures.

We are staying at The Manila Hotel as in-house guests from June 17 to 19 to attend the Parangal San Mateo Awards Night on June 17 and the PICPA Awards Night on June 18, both to be held at the Centennial Hall. These two special events are milestones for our professional community and personal journey. And what better venue than this iconic hotel to honor excellence and tradition in the accountancy profession.

The Manila Hotel has always played host to some of the most important occasions in our lives. We have been here many times in the past and every visit reaffirms its place in our hearts as a trusted venue for meaningful gatherings.

The hotel lobby remains a showpiece of Filipino artistry, graced with chandeliers, carved hardwood panels, and timeless furniture that invite conversation and nostalgia. With warm lighting and soft piano music in the background, the atmosphere strikes a fine balance between refined tradition and contemporary comfort.

One thoughtful feature is the hotel’s guest advisory on breakfast schedules at Café Ilang-Ilang. By offering peak hour guidance, low traffic from 6 to 8 a.m., moderate from 8 to 9 a.m., and heavy from 9 to 10 a.m., it shows attention to guest experience and time management, especially helpful during busy conference days.

Whether for business or leisure, a stay at The Manila Hotel feels like a return to the heart of Manila’s heritage. It is not just a place to rest, dine, or meet, it is a place where stories live on.
