Sultan Kudarat farmers receive farm machinery from DAR

Sultan Kudarat agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) recently received over P500,000 worth of farm machineries from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to improve their agricultural productivity.

The ARBs who would benefit from farm machinery, which include hand tractors with trailers, floating tillers, and power tillers, are members of two (2) ARB organizations (ARBOs) in the area.

The recipient ARBOs include the San Roque ARB Association from Palimbang, and the Silang ARB Association from Bagumbayan, who were also provided with training and farm inputs to further support their farming activities.

Alvaro M. Casuga, President of San Roque ARBA, expressed his utmost gratitude to the DAR for its continued support of the organization.

“These farm machinery would be a great help to increase our income and improve our livelihood. Rest assured that we will do our best to maintain this machinery,” he said.

The farm equipment was provided under the DAR’s Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project, which aims to help ARBs mitigate the effects of climate change on their crops and ensure a sustainable source of income for themselves and their families.

Abdullah Balindong, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer, commended the ARBOs for providing assurance to preserve and enhance the usability of the farm machineries they received.

“The continued functionality of the machinery is for your own advantage and for the benefit of your organizations. The DAR, on our part, will remain committed to providing different support services to enhance the well-being of our ARBOs,” he said.
