Carol V. Valdez, Seda Centrio Hotel Director of Sales in Cagayan de Oro City was nominated as one of the 32 Finalists for the MANAGER Category in the recent Mabuhay Awards, which recognizes outstanding employees of the Philippine’s hospitality industry.

Ms. Valdez has been Seda Centrio’s Director of Sales since March 17, 2014 and supervises seven (7) staff in the Sales and Marketing department. She also reports to AyalaLand Hotels and Resorts Senior Group Director of Sales and Marketing Melissa J. Carlos.
Among the Ms. Valdez’s traits that Seda Centrio cited in their endorsement to AHRM are her Integrity, Hospitality and Service, Patriotism, Resilience, Teamwork and Environmentalism.
Her team testifies that Carol is a leader who embodies the highest standards of integrity and very essence of hospitality and service. Her passion for excellence is evident in everything she does, from the meticulous attention to detail to the thoughtful touches that she adds to each guest experience.

They further testified to her remarkable resilience in the face of adversity. Even amid the challenges brought about by the pandemic, Ms. Valdez demonstrated unwavering strength and determination, with a positive attitude and perseverance that were an inspiration to the team.
Not the least, cited was her collaborative approach has been a key driver of the hotel’s success. The team looks to her for guidance and support which fosters a culture of teamwork and excellence not just within her department, but the whole hotel.
Launched by the Association of Human Resources Managers in the Hospitality Industry(AHRM) on the 27th of July, 2023 at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, the Mabuhay Awards is considered as the “Oscars” of the Tourism and hospitality industry recognizing and rewarding model employees in the industry and promoting outstanding service commitment.
AHRM is an Affiliate Member of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines(HRAP) headed by President Greg de Garriz, concurrently a member of the HRAP Board of Directors.
The Seda Hotel Group won three of the five awards which recognizes outstanding employees of the Philippine’s hospitality industry during the 26th Mabuhay Awards held at The Westin Manila on November 27, 2023 with the theme “Ako ay Pilipino – PILI at PINO”.
Seda Hotels was earlier recognized as the “PHILIPPINES’ LEADING HOTEL GROUP” for the 10th straight year in the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA), considered the “Oscars of the travel and tourism industry” held at the GEM Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Established in 1993, the WTA is globally recognized as the “ultimate hallmark of excellence” in the tourism and hospitality industries. It covers country, regional, and world awards. (with Tito Mike)
