CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Rotary International District 3870 Governor-elect Gilda “Gigi” Go has appointed another assistant governor for Zone 2 for the Rotary Year 2023-2024.
Go appointed Rotary Officer Mark Anthonee Bernal, city councilor of Valencia City in Bukidnon Province.
“AG Mark belongs to the Rotary Club of Central Bukidnon and served as its Club President in Rotary year 2019 – 2020.
AG Mark is one of the City Councilors of Valencia City in the province of Bukidnon. He is the owner and founder of Hulad Grains,” DGE Go said.
She also thanked AG Mark for accepting the challenge to lead his fellow Rotarians in Bukidnon.
“Thank you AG Mark for accepting the appointment,” she added.
Duties of Assistant Governor in Rotary
In Rotary, the Assistant Governor (AG) is an important role that provides support to clubs in a specific geographic area, often referred to as a “district.” The duties of an Assistant Governor in Rotary include:
Supporting and guiding club leaders: An Assistant Governor helps Rotary club leaders to understand and implement Rotary’s goals and objectives, as well as provide guidance on how to run a successful club.
Promoting membership growth: The AG works with clubs to develop strategies to attract new members and retain existing members.
Assisting with training: The AG helps clubs to organize and conduct training sessions for members, including new member orientations, leadership training, and other educational programs.
Communicating district news and information: The AG serves as a liaison between the clubs in their area and the district leadership, relaying important information about district events, initiatives, and policies.
Supporting Rotary programs: The AG promotes and supports Rotary’s programs and initiatives, such as Rotary Youth Exchange, Rotary Peace Fellowships, and other service projects.
Encouraging collaboration: The AG works to build relationships between clubs and encourage collaboration on projects and initiatives, both within their geographic area and across the district as a whole.
