CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao del Norte – A pregnant member of the communist terrorist group thanked the troops of the 37th Infantry (Conqueror) Battalion and the police for treating her well. Alias Dayang was caught and arrested by government troops in Sitio Biao, Barangay Napnapon, Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat on March 16, 2023.
According to Lt. Col. John Paul Baldomar, Commanding Officer of 37IB Alyas Dayang was arrested through a Warrant of Arrest in the case of Attempted Murder with Criminal Case Number 20-5937.
“Her comrades in the communist terrorist group left her because she was pregnant, so she was only busy with the escape of her comrades in the movement.” “Through a joint Law Enforcement Support Operation of the 37th Infantry (Conqueror) Battalion, Palimbang MPS, Kalamansig MPS and 2nd SKPMFC, the said pregnant logistics officer of the communist group was caught while hiding in a dense area,” said Lt. . Col. Baldomar.
Due to his condition, Alyas Dayang was immediately given appropriate medical attention at the nearest government medical facility through a military ambulance.
“I want to convey that your soldiers and other security forces of our government always obey and follow the provisions of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law on the battlefield,” said Brigadier General Michael A. Santos, Commander of 603rd Persuader Brigade.
“Thank you very much for taking care of me and my son”, Alias Dayang thanked the sky as he was being given medical attention.
Major General Alex Rillera, Commander of Joint Task Force Central and 6ID praised the military of 37IB, 603Bde along with Palimbang MPS and Sultan Kudarat Police Provincial Office for apprehending the suspect and following the rules of engagement. “Our military continues to pursue the suspect’s colleagues, however we continue to provide medical attention to Alias Dayang. While we are not ruling out his membership in a terrorist group, he will still face the many charges filed against him,” said Maj. Gen. Rillera.
So far, four communist leaders have been captured, nine have been killed and twelve have surrendered while twelve weapons have been surrendered and eighteen have been captured by the military under the Joint Task Force Central, since January until now.
