By MDNN Reportorial Team

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – As part of the catalysts for change in Mindanao, the Mindanao Daily News Network (MDNN) and Philippine Veterans Bank (PVB) have recognized, for the third time, the most outstanding leaders of the island – in the academe, government and private sector. The outstanding Mindanaoans.

The awardees were awarded and duly recognized on December 29th at Centrio Ayala Mall Event Center, based on their profession and performance which have contributed a lot in nation building, most especially in the island of Mindanao.

We thank the Almighty that he has given us the means and resolve to survive what has proven to be the most trying two years yet of our decade-long existence, as MDNN has now firmly established itself as a force for good, not only in the regional media landscape, but nationally and globally as well through its online editions which are now reaching not only Kagay-anons and Misamisnons nationwide, but overseas Filipinos globally as well, said President & CEO Dante Sudaria.

Besides our original BusinessWeek Mindanao, Mindanao Daily News and Metro Cagayan de Oro Times (the former Cagayan Times) print editions, we are now established an ever-growing online presence, especially MDN which is now headed for the 600K mark in followers/subscribers, Sudaria noted.

Aside from the print editions of BWN, MDN and Metro CDO Times, each of the three newspapers further multiply their reach with their respective websites, and respective social media pages as well.

Most people now mainly get their source of news and information through electronic means, especially social media, through their mobile phones and other gadgets, Sudaria observed. The pandemic has boosted this trend even further by mandating virtual meetings for businessmen, work from home for many workers, and distance learning for school children through the internet.

Thus, a strong online presence will enable us not only to reach our viewers worldwide with relevant news and updated information to keep them updated about the goings on in Cagayan de Oro and Northern Mindanao, but likewise serve as a channel through which they can direct their inquiries and reports about events in their respective communities, wherever they are in the Philippines or abroad, he added.

Leaders in the government and private offices can excel. We need to help one another in recognizing their important contribution in rebuilding Mindanao, Sudaria explained.
