The city of Cagayan de Oro is set to benefit from a new garbage collection service as Standard System, the winning bidder, begins its operations on September 26, 2025. According to Engr. Armen Cuenca, head of the Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (CLENRO), the new garbage collector will start its full operation, aiming to solve the city’s waste management problems.
The full operation will cover barangays scheduled for garbage collection every Friday, including Kauswagan, Bayabas, Tablon, Carmen, Puntod, Macabalan, Macasandig, Cugman, and Balubal. The garbage collection schedule will remain the same, with collections twice a week in scheduled barangays from Monday to Saturday.

Engr. Cuenca expressed gratitude that Standard System’s capacity exceeds the city’s requirements. The new garbage collector is expected to efficiently manage the city’s waste, providing a much-needed solution to the community.
Mayor Klarex Uy hopes that the new garbage collection service will finally address the city’s waste management issues. He urges the public to cooperate by following the designated garbage collection days and properly segregating their waste.
With the new garbage collector in place, the city is expected to experience improved waste management services. The public’s cooperation and participation will be crucial in ensuring the success of this initiative and maintaining a clean and healthy environment for all residents.
