Thirty officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways-Northern Mindanao (DPWH-10) have tendered their unqualified resignations, effective upon acceptance by Secretary Vince Dizon. The resignations cover key positions, including Regional Director, Assistant Regional Director, District Engineers, and Assistant District Engineers.

DPWH-10 information officer Roshelle Novie Cabrido clarified that there are no ghost projects under their jurisdiction. She explained that some social media posts regarding flood-control infrastructures in the area were misleading and incorrect. According to Cabrido, all projects, including those in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, were completed.

Cabrido cited specific projects, including one in Sitio Lagaan, Barangay Apo Macote, Malaybalay City, which has ongoing corrective works, and two others in Purok 4 and Purok 8, Barangay Linabo, completed on March 5, 2024, at a cost of PHP96.4 million. She emphasized that DPWH-10 personnel were dispatched to investigate reported damage to some flood-control infrastructures.

Cabrido noted that the resigned officials will continue to report to work and perform their duties until Secretary Dizon acts on their resignations. This ensures minimal disruption to ongoing projects and services.

The DPWH-10’s response aims to address concerns and provide transparency regarding the projects under scrutiny. The agency’s commitment to accountability and good governance is evident in their efforts to clarify misconceptions and ensure the public is informed about the status of their projects.
