Naawan,Misamis Oriental-Just last Thursday (February 8), an Eco-friendly world class edifice was inaugurated and blessed that witnessed by ACT-CIS party list Representative Erwin Tulfo who delivers his message as guest speaker.
The new Naawan town hall was erected in a wide space of 6 hectares lot wherein 3,000 square meters was occupied by the building;meaning,there’s still a huge space that will be utilized for parking area,recreational and even an outdoor sporting events.
Why its design and facilities is world class? It’s because the architectural design itself is amazing and rare, one of its kind Honeycomb design with a state of the art natural air cooling system.
The design was a fruit of imagination by Naawan Mayor Dennis Roa that later introduced the concept that he want to be to the architect of the contractor from Jejors Construction based in Cagayan de Oro City.
He introduced a honeycomb design in 2019 but due to the onslaught of COVID-19 pandemic, the project temporarily ceased until three years ago, they revive the project and presented it to the Development Bank of the Philippines(DBP) for a PhP180 Million loan.
The total loan amount will include the total lot area and the Php120 Million worth building.The 3 storey building has an elevator specialized for the accessibility of the Persons with Disability (PWD) and Senior Citizen.The honeycomb concept by Mayor Dennis Roa signifies for his town as a comb of tourism,and the edifice was not only a honeycomb of queen bees but for all the people of Naawan.Naawan is home of several beautiful waterfalls, lots of natural spring resorts and in 2008 earned a national reputation as one of the most beautiful towns in the country and named also as the cleanest town in the Philippines.
Aside from Tulfo, Mindanao Development Authority (MinDa) Chairperson Ma.Belen S. Acosta also grace the affair.The inauguration and Blessing was attended by Misamis Oriental Governor Peter Unabia and 2nd District Congressman Bambi Emano who at the same time having a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 10 represented by its Regional Director Allan F. Jamen since DSWD has a Sattelite Office at the ground floor of the town hall that serves the people from Alubijid to Lugait in the western part of the province.Aside from that, its processing is faster since it was in a form of digital submission,the only province obtain such technology according to Governor Unabia.
