In the aftermath of a recent encounter between the Armed Forces of the Philippines (Philippine Army) and the Communist Terrorist Group (New People’s Army) in the vicinity of Barangay Napangan on September 17, 2023, the local government unit (LGU) of Don Victoriano extends its heartfelt gratitude to Working Governor Henry Sevilla Oaminal for his immediate response in providing essential assistance to the affected families.
The armed presence of the NPA in Barangay Napangan prompted concern for the safety and well-being of the residents in the area. The LGU quickly assessed the needs of the affected families and initiated a response to alleviate their immediate hardships.
The internally displaced families, hailing from Sitio Matol, Sitio Tigbakan, and Napangan Poblacion, have received crucial aid through the dedicated efforts of Governor Henry S. Oaminal. A team from the Provincial Government was sent as early in the Morning of September 8, 2033 to distribute the relief packs to the IDP’s. Each relief package includes 400 kilograms of rice and 20 packs of canned goods, specifically tailored to meet the immediate needs of the affected households.
This swift action by the Provincial Government, under Governor Oaminal’s leadership, demonstrates a commitment to the welfare of its constituents during challenging times. These relief provisions aim to provide temporary assistance to the displaced families as they cope with the aftermath of the recent encounter.
Local authorities emphasize that this relief assistance is just the beginning, as further support and recovery efforts are being planned to ensure the affected families receive the necessary help and resources to rebuild their lives.
