JASDF, PAF Hold Unit-to-Unit Exchange

Two F-15 fighters and personnel of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) visited Clark Air Base from December 6th to 8th, and unit-to-unit exchanges were conducted with the Philippine Air Force (PAF). Ambassador KOSHIKAWA Kazuhiko observed the F-15 fighters at the base on December 7th and joined a lunch hosted by PAF.

This is the first visit of JASDF fighters to any country in the ASEAN region. The unit-to-unit exchange aims to promote mutual understanding and develop defense cooperation and exchanges with PAF.

The JASDF and PAF will promote concrete measures to contribute to upholding and strengthening the “Free and Open Indo-Pacific”. With the strong friendship between Japan and the Philippines that has deepened in a wide range of fields, both countries will proactively engage in the peace and security of the region as well as the international community.
