MSU-GenSan Ink MOU with UP-Diliman for partnership

MINDANAO STATE UNIVERSITY- GENERAL SANTOS lead by JD Chancellor Usman D. Aragasi through the Office of International Affairs (OIA) forged a collaboration with the University of the Philippines – Diliman with

UP-Diliman Chancellor Dr. Fidel R. Nemenzo signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on November 25, 2022, in the morning, at Conference Room, Administration Building.

Witnessing the Inking the MOU were Vice Chancellor for Research and Development, Dr. Gonzalo Campoamor, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Dr. Loiuse Jashil Sonido, and the Special Assistant to the Chancellor, Dr. Dulce Verdolaga, and Dr. Henelito A. Sevilla, Dean of the Asian Center. Leading MSU-GenSan is Acting Chancellor JD Usman D. Aragasi, MPA with the Vice Chancellors, Deans, Directors, and College International Affairs Coordinators of the University.

This ceremonial MOU signing is the product of constant consultation between the two universities spearheaded by the MSU-GenSan Office of International Affairs and UP Asian Center.

Aragasi said the MOU seeks to develop academic cooperation and promote mutual understanding between the two Universities. The MOU will leverage each universities’ comparative advantage to consider the development of mutually beneficial academic collaborations including the exchange of faculty, researchers, and other research and administrative staff; exchange of students and practicum; collaborative research projects; lectures and symposia; exchange of academic information and materials – library to library information; and other forms of academic cooperation.

“This MOU Signing marks a historic milestone between the two universities with sincere intentions manifested by their presence —an opportunity which will benefit the two universities,” Chancellor Aragasi remarked.

The signing ceremony was joined by distinguished witnesses, Dean of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities Dr. Carmela G. Ong, Dean of School of Graduate Studies Dr. Ava Clare Marie O. Robles, Dean of College of Business Administration and Accountancy Dr. Marissa G. Dela Cruz, GAD Focal Person and Directress of the Center for Women Studies Dr. Precy R. Regalado, Directress of Internal Audit Services Ms. Lorraine M. Dagalangit, Campuster Registrar Prof. Tersa R. Castillo, Campus Secretary Prof. Norman Ralph B. Isla, Research Director Dr. Jovanie C. Espesor, Directress of Cultural Affairs Office Dr. Alma Celesthia D. Aguja, Head of Procurement Office Ms. Haydee Espinosa, Executive Assistant to the OC Ms. Rhea Ayop and Dr. Farnzovitz A. Atillen. Guests from both universities and key actors in the partnership were also present: Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Mishell D. Lawas, Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development Prof. Sheila J. Loable, Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance Ms. Nurleila G. Canacan and Directress of Office of International Affairs Prof. Beverly Garcia.
