Holy Week observance in Misor successful, says administrator Ladaga

by Noy Adaram

MISAMIS ORIENTAL – The observance of the Holy Week 2024 in this province was very successful, said Provincial Administrator John Venice Ladaga the other day.

Ladaga said the success was attributed to Governor Peter “Sr. Pedro” M. Unabia’s issuance of a directive that coordinated with the respective local government units (LGUs) of the province.

The provincial police ensured the security of the province especially in recreational or vacation areas and religious sites.

The capitol tasked its Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) headed by Mr. Fernando Vincent Q. Dy, Jr. the deployment of its equipments (including ambulances and search and rescue (SAR) vehicles) as well as personnel to assist the respective Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (DRRMCs) in municipalities and the two component cities in case of emergencies.

In a related news, the Misamis Oriental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MisOr PDRRMO) headed by Fernando Vincent Q. Dy, Jr. has also earlier announced that the blue alert status was in effect during the observance of this year’s Holy Week.

It was activated from March 27 at 5 PM until the end of the lenten season, it was learned.

Mr. Dy said that the action was pursuant to the order by the Northern Mindanao Office of Civil Defense (OCD-X) headed by its Regional Director Antonio B. Sugarol.

Under this, a large portion of the total number of personnel were on standby in case of anticipated adversities. Equipment, including ambulances and search and rescue (SAR) vehicles, were deployed.

Teams on the field were mandated to provide situational reports every 3 PM until the code was lifted.
