JOLO, Sulu – A top official of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office in the province has announced the recent activation of the greening program in Sulu province.
Engr Nur-padzri S. Pao, MPA PENRE Officer told MDN News Bureau that he was informed by the higher office regarding the continuation of the greening program in the Bangsamoro region in 2024.
“Since the late Penro passed away last 2023 status quo po lahat ng projects tapos pumasok na yung January 2024 nagkaroon po ng operational planning for the province of Sulu doon po sa regional office natin sa Cotabato City,”
He said by April 2024, the integrated Bangsamoro greening program will eventually start again. Areas on the plan after the Ramadan are Siasi municipality, and Bangingi for the 1st district.
“For the 2nd district ini-encourage natin ang mga kasama natin na maghanap ng areas for the program. Wala pa kasing pumapasok na project but I believe imposible namang wala kasi maraming damages,” he said.
NO CUTTING OF MANGROVES
The Penro Officer said his office has not received any reports of illegal cutting of mangroves in his AOR.
“So far walang reported dito na cutting of mangroves,” he claimed.
