Gov Unabia, VG Pelaez visit the wake of former Misor Board Member Lagbas

MISAMIS ORIENTAL – Governor Peter “Sr. Perdo” M. Unabia and Vice Governor Jeremy Jonahmar “Jigjag” Pelaez, including the whole Paglaum team visited the wake of their former colleague, the late Benedict P. Lagbas.

Lagbas, according to records, was a Sangguniang Panlalawigan board member of the province for many years. His remains now lie at their residence in Sugbongcogon, Misamis Oriental.

It was learned that Governor Unabia and his wife visited in advance a few days ago, while Vice Governor Pelaez and other board members composed of Wayne T. Militante, Gerardo “Boboy” Sabal III, Dexter B. Yasay, Michelle Anayron, Syremae “Say-say” Emano, Princess Emano, Mary Kate Temple (President, SK Federation) visited on September 4.

During the visit of Vice Governor Pelaez and the Board Members, they handed a resolution to the bereaved family, recognizing the contributions of the late Lagbas during his three terms from July 1, 2007 up to June 30, 2016.

In said resolution authored by Board Member Gerardo “Boboy” Sabal III and co-authored by Board Members Wayne Militante and Jabi Bernaldez, they also cited the efforts made by the late Lagbas, as well as his dedication to public service which greatly benefited the people of Misamis Oriental.

They said “the death of Benedict P. Lagbas was a great loss not only to his family but to all the people of Misamis Oriental as he left many remarkable legislations that really touch the lives of the people in the province.

Lagbas was born on September 22, 1955. He returned to his Almighty Creator on August 30, 2024, at the age of 68.

His interment will be on September 6, 2024, 1pm at IFI Church in Sugbongcogon, Misamis Oriental. ###
