ZAMBOANGA CITY – Globe is expanding its 5G network in this city with more than 40 additional sites in the pipeline to improve connectivity and network capacity for residents and business needs.

The company currently operates more than 200 sites across the city, nearly half of which are already 5G-enabled. Globe said its 5G network reaches around 99% of the population within its 5G coverage areas.

The expansion focuses on areas with high customer activity and data usage as more residents here rely on mobile connectivity for work, education, business, entertainment, and other daily activities.

Globe said the network improvements are expected to provide customers with faster downloads, better video calls, and more reliable access to applications and online services.

“Customers here are using mobile connectivity for more of the things they do each day. We continue to improve our network to give them a better experience,” said Globe’s Network Technical Group Senior Director Jowin Marquez.

Marquez said the company aims to support customers as they work, study, conduct business, access services, and communicate with family and friends.

Zamboanga City Mayor Khymer Adan Olaso also welcomed Globe’s efforts to improve its network, citing the importance of reliable connectivity to the city’s growth.

The mayor said the improvements could help residents and businesses gain better access to digital services and opportunities.

Alongside its network expansion, Globe will conduct on-ground activities in key areas of the city to allow customers to experience its 5G connectivity firsthand. Community activations and customer engagements in high-traffic locations will also provide residents with information about the network improvements.

Through the additional sites and ongoing upgrades, Globe aims to improve mobile connectivity across Zamboanga City as residents increasingly use digital platforms for their everyday needs. (END)
