GINGOOG CITY Mayor Erick G. Cañosa delivered his State of the City Address (SOCA) with great emphasis on high impact projects experienced by the City and its people.
The mayor said with this year’s SOCA, he thanked the presence of Misamis Oriental Governor Peter “Sr.Pedro” M. Unabia, his immediate families, friends and supporters.
Mayor Cañosa also especially thanked Congressman Christian S. Unabia for all the projects he poured into the City of Gingoog, as well as the full support of his father, Governor Unabia. “Ang atong dakbayan sa Gingoog karon atong makita nga niuswag ug miasenso na,” he stressed.
He said all these successes the city experienced were also because of the unity of all the leaders starting from the barangays level, SK chairmen, City Councilors and to Vice Mayor Thaddeus “Tadoy” Lugod.
CHALLENGES
Mayor Cañosa said in the past the City was challenged by Covid 19 pandemic, shearline phenomenon and other forms of calamities. But the resilience of its people and the leaders have defeated all those challenges .
He added that the bravery, unity, and determination of the people of Gingoog City have propelled them to withstand all the economic challenges and continued its goal to succeed.
Cañosa cited that with the great leaders like Governor Unabia and his son, Cong Christian S. Unabia, the City of Gingoog is now experiencing the impacts of development and progress.
HEAVY RAINS STOP SOCA
Unfortunately, the heavy rains that struck the City of Gingoog has hampered the ongoing SOCA of the mayor on August 16, 2024.
It was then decided by the City Council that the SOCA will be continued at a later date so that the City Mayor will be able to enumerate all the ongoing and ongoing high impact projects in the City of Gingoog. ###
