Nestled deep within the mountains of T’boli, South Cotabato, lies Sitio Datal Tablo, a community hidden amongst the mountains, where life is often a struggle. For years, the residents of Sitio Datal Tablo have faced challenges, lacking basic necessities like access to clean water. But recently, a glimmer of hope arrived in the form of MLhuillier, a renowned financial service provider, through their OPEC T’nalak outreach program.
The journey to Sitio Datal Tablo was not an easy one, with the team facing rugged terrain and difficult road conditions that required the use of an all-wheel-drive truck to navigate the challenging road. Despite the obstacles and hardships encountered along the way, the team persevered, driven by a shared sense of purpose and determination to bring about change in this remote community.
Upon reaching Sitio Datal Tablo, MLhuillier’s efforts bore fruit as the company donated and constructed much-needed water supply system and reservoir for the local school and the community. This simple yet essential project was a game-changer, providing residents with access to clean, potable water. The impact was immediate and profound, improving the health and hygiene of students, staff, and the community as a whole.
But the MLhuillier OPEC T’nalak didn’t stop there. Recognizing the importance of proper hygiene, they organized a Basic Personal Hygiene Education and Training symposium for the T’boli students. The team also distributed hygiene kits, school bags, and supplies to the students, ensuring they had the tools they needed to maintain good hygiene. To further support the school, MLhuillier OPEC T’nalak donated a computer set with a printer and scanner, empowering teachers and staff to perform their duties more effectively.
Beyond infrastructure and education, the team painted the newly constructed water reservoir, adding a touch of vibrancy and care to the facilities. This act of beautification instilled a sense of pride and ownership within the community.
Despite the challenges faced, the MLhuillier OPEC T’nalak left Sitio Datal Tablo with a sense of fulfilment and satisfaction. They have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of their project, bringing hope and positive change to a community in need. The experience served as a powerful reminder of the importance of corporate social responsibility and the impact that collective action can have on the lives of others.
