E-Future e-vehicles take center stage at Mindanao Transport Summit

By Atty. Roland Collado

Cagayan de Oro — On the sideline of Mindanao Transport Summit scheduled on March 7, 2025 at the posh Xavier Estates Clubhouse in Uptown, this city, BK Shin, CEO of e-Future Motors with his management team led by Robert Cang is poised to showcase the entry of electric vehicles in Mindanao in support of the government’s march toward changing the transport landscape into clean and workable environment.

e-Future Motors Philippines Inc and Mindanao Daily Express Transport Cooperative (MINDEX) is scheduled to ink the MOA signing during the Mindanao Transport Summit for the delivery of an initial 50 units of e-vehicles targetting the reduction of the country’s carbon footprint and dependence on fossil fuels.

MiNDEX has lauded e-Future Motors Philippines’ contribution in the transformation of the country’s roads and streets into clean, carbon-free environment, a shining example of innovation and sustainability in the transportation sector. By incorporating e-jeepneys into the public transportation system, e-Future Motors is championing the reduction of the country’s carbon footprint and dependence on fossil fuels.

The introduction of e-vehicles into the country’s transport mainstream is essential in the prioritization of sustainability and environmental protection. The country’s transport modernization program is a significant step in this direction, and its success will pave the way for a more sustainable future for generations to come.

If implemented in the right direction, the transport modernization program will have far-reaching impacts on the environment, economy and society, ensuring a brighter future for the Filipino people.

At this juncture, this humble representation has thrown full support to our policy makers to fast track the full implementation of the country’s transport modernization particularly the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

The transport sector have recognized the importance of modernizing the public transportation and will work in cadence with the government to ensure the successful implementation of the program.

That being said, the Mindanao Transport sector works in tandem with its counterparts in Luzon and Visayas to ensure the smooth transition in revolutionizing the transportation industry to create green jobs and stimulate economic growth. Already, the e-vehicle project has started to generate employment opportunities in the areas of manufacturing, maintenance, and operations.

Added to this, e-vehicle program has attracted investments from private sector partners, boosting the country’s economy. This public-private partnership is a testament to the effectiveness of collaboration in driving the country’s economic growth and development.

In fact, a fleet of e-vehicles designed and manufactured locally, which boast sleek and modern designs are already on the road in several cities of the country. These e-vehicles have a range of up to 200 kilometers on a single charge, making them an ideal solution for the country’s public transportation needs.

E-jeepneys are equipped with advanced safety features, including GPS tracking, CCTV cameras, and emergency buttons. This ensures the safety and security of passengers, drivers, and pedestrians. My hats-off to the pioneers in the transformation of the country’s transport sector into an efficient, clean, world-class public transportation system.
