DepEd Recovers P65 Million from Private Schools Over Voucher Program Issues

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Education (DepEd) has successfully reclaimed around P65 million from private schools found to have engaged in irregularities within the senior high school voucher program. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in educational funding.

The senior high school voucher program provides financial aid to students attending private schools, but investigations uncovered violations by some institutions, prompting DepEd to act.

While the department has not disclosed the names of the implicated schools, officials assured the public that preventive measures are being strengthened to avoid future misuse of public funds.
