MDNN INTERNATIONAL – Celeste Cortesi, Philippine’s representative to the 71st edition of the prestigious beauty tilt, is confident she will bring the crown today.
The Miss Universe will be live today, Sunday, January 15, at around 9:00 am (Phil time) at A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Metro Channel, and iWantTFC. It will be shown live and direct from the host New Orleans, one of the vibrant places in the United States.
“It has always been my dream to become Miss Universe. I have my purpose, and honestly, I was given a second chance to represent the Philippines. I’m not gonna waste it,” she claimed in an interview with reporter Dyan Castillejo.
In an interview with the international media, Celeste said that she works hard for this and she will just enjoy every moment on stage today.
Earlier though, it was reported that she’s been leading in all of the preliminary contests of the pageant, and beauty analysts say she has great chances of bringing home the Miss Universe Crown again back to the Philippines.
“I’m really telling myself that I worked so hard. I really prepared for this so I just have to go out there and enjoy the moment because God will just do the rest,” she told the media.
“Miss Universe is a destiny and I want to enjoy every single step on the stage. It’s just one chance in a lifetime and I really have to have fun when I’m on the stage and then we will see what’s gonna happen again. The gown is gonna be different, a little bit of a different color as well. We really wanted to leave the best for last. “I really want to go onstage having fun, not even thinking about the technique or anything. I just want to walk out there and do my posing, and really enjoy the moment. That’s what I’m hoping for,” the half Italian half Filipina added.
Cortesi competed for the Philippines in 2018 during the Miss Earth beauty pageant and placed only eight.
