OFFICER-IN-CHARGE OIC SECRETARY DR YUSOPH  MANDO GRACES FINAL LEG OF THE ENHANCED HAJJ AWARENESS PROGRAM IN ZAMBOANGA CITY on Tuesday, February 27,2024  during  their significant  two-day affair ,meticulously crafted for the eligible Sheikhs of the ZamboBasulta region, echoed promises of a transformed  hajj experiences.

Mando, a native son of the region, spoke passionately about the pressing needs and challenges that resonate deeply within the locality. His keynote address not only resonated with the audience but also outlined groundbreaking initiatives set to redefine the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage.

Central to  Mando’s address was the revelation of two pivotal changes set to revolutionize the Hajj experience for Filipino pilgrims. Firstly, the announcement of a notable reduction in the Mutawiff fee garnered widespread applause. This marked a significant departure from the historical trajectory of escalating fees, signaling a tangible relief for pilgrims undertaking the sacred journey. Additionally,  Mando unveiled efforts for a pioneering accommodation arrangement at the prestigious Al-Kiswa Towers Hotel, strategically located a mere 800 meters from Masjid el-Haram.

Highlighting the unprecedented nature of these initiatives,  Mando emphasized that the forthcoming Hajj season would witness all Filipino pilgrims housed under one roof for the first time in history. Furthermore, each room at the luxurious 4-star hotel would accommodate a maximum of five pilgrims only, ensuring both comfort and camaraderie throughout the pilgrimage.

Mando attributed these transformative endeavors to the steadfast commitment of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) under its BAGONG NCMF mission and its unwavering dedication to serving the needs of the Muslim Filipino community. However, he underscored that these strides toward ensuring a smooth, safe, and efficient Hajj experience are not merely isolated efforts but are aligned with the directives and marching orders of the nation’s leadership.

In particular, Mando acknowledged the visionary leadership of President Marcos Jr. and the invaluable support of Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr. of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). Their resolute commitment to enhancing the welfare of Filipino pilgrims has been instrumental in driving these historic changes, marking a new chapter in the annals of Hajj operations.

As the curtains drew on the EHAP in Zamboanga City,  Mando’s words lingered, resonating with hope and anticipation. With the promise of reduced fees and enhanced accommodations, the path to Hajj 2024 appears brighter than ever, guided by the unwavering resolve to serve and uplift the Muslim Filipino community.
