MARAWI CITY:- FIFTY-TWO THOUSANDS FIVE HUNDRED SEVENTY-SEVEN (52,577) in coming colleges students took the Mindanao State University System (MSU’s) Admission and Scholarship Examination (MSU-SASE) last February 25 held in some 78 designated test centers around Mindanao including 02-M test center
in Metro, Manila supervised by MSU Manila Information Office. Top Officials said.
High ranking officials from the university main campus led by MSU System President Atty Basari D. Mapupuno ,it was learned that this 2024-2025 academic year SASE administered to incoming college students coming from
public and private schools were recorded the most number of SASE takers since its inception.
The University officials emphasize that this is 12.17% increased from the last year. All the constituent
universities and colleges of the university recorded an increased in the number of their SASE takers.
This proves that the university continues to be the best choice among the public universities incoming college students.
More than 9,600 hopeful Grade 12 students took the examination at MSU-IIT, reflecting a notable increase from the previous year’s count of over 6,000 examinees.
The exam, spearheaded by the Office of Admissions, Scholarships and Grants (OASG), is conducted in four batches: two in the morning and two in the afternoon, at various campus locations namely, the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS);College of Economics, Business and Accountancy (CEBA); College of Computer Studies (CCS); College of Education (CED); and at the Gymnasium.
Additional testing centers, managed by MSU-IIT, were established at various locations, such as the Tubaran National High School (TNHS) in Barangay Mandulog of Iligan; Bukidnon National High School in Malaybalay; Bukidnon National School of Home Industries in Maramag; Ignacio Tan Integrated School in Bonifacio, Misamis Occidental; Ozamiz National High School in Ozamiz City; Misamis Occidental National High School in Oroquieta City; Sergio Osmeña National High School in Zamboanga del Norte; and in Bislig National High School in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.
The said exam is also held at one testing center located at the MSU-Manila Information Office in Ermita, Manila.
MSU-SASE examinees are taking tests on science, math, language, and aptitude.
Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan of MSU-IIT said security has been strengthened at the university , and measures have been implemented to ensure the safety of the examinees.
Ditucalan emphasize who oversees the activity and ensuring the smooth conduct of the said examination was successful due to the support of Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs Nancy Q. Echavez, OASG Director Jocelyn P. Vilela, and faculty and staff who served as supervising examiners and proctors.
In MSU-General Santos, Chancellor Usman Aragasi said last February 25, the university campus has been flocked by diverse incoming first year students coming from SOCCSKSARGEN and other neighboring regions yearly vying for examination that determine their admission of scholarship from the MSU System , Aragasi said.
This year, a total number of 7,905 took the SASE held in its main testing centers at MSU-GenSan ,Fatima campus.
The said SASE examination during that day of February 25 was administered in four successive administration batches that commenced from 8AM to 4PM , and security were tightened to prevent any untoward incident, Aragasi added.
In MSU-Manila Information Office , they said out of 245 accepted applications 209 student took the examination held at the 02-M test center.
