CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Unidentified armed suspects held a jeweler in Puerto, a coastal village 10 kilometers east of here and carted away jewelries worth P 2 million.
Lt. Col. Ivan Viñas, spokesperson of the Cagayan de Oro City Police, said on Thursday that police launched a city wide hunt Tuesday night, minutes after the armed robbery occurred.
Viñas, who released the report Thursday, said that two unidentified motor-riding suspects held at gunpoint a certain Chicky Thompson, a jeweler, of Agusan, Cagayan de Oro, and carted away her bag containing “diamond” stones valued at P2 million.
The victim told the police that she carry with her the gems whenever she conducts business with prospective clients.
Thompson said that they went to see a client in Puerto when the armed suspects waylaid her at gunpoint while on her way back to her car.
The victim, who reported the incident to the nearest police outpost in Puerto, described the suspects as wearing black jacket, black face mask and black ball cap.
Viñas said that a hot pursuit is going on as the police threw a dragnet around the city to apprehend and identify the suspects. -0-
