2 NPAs killed, 3 firearms seized in Agusan Norte clash

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Two New People’s Army (NPA) combatants were killed, three firearms seized, in a clashed with state forces Las Nieves, Agusan Del Norte, a military report said Monday.

The belated report reaching here identified the slain NPA rebels as Rey Torregosa, 24; of Brgy Maasin, Esperanza, Agusan del Sur, a member of Platoon Sagay, SRC 3; and Juliven Badbaran, 41, of Brgy Balit, San Luis, Agusan del Sur, former CO of Platoon Banglas, SRC 3 / member of Platoon Sagay, SRC3 of North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCRMC). 

Lt. Claudine Robledo, the spokesperson, of the army’s 402nd Brigade reported here, that elements of the army’s 23IB encountered about 15 NPA rebels in So Little Baguio, in Consorcia, Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte Tuesday.

Robledo said that the military also seized one RPK Light Machine Gun, one AK47 Rifle; one M16 Rifle, one Anti-Personnel Mine, 11 AK47 magazines, three M14 magazines, NPA flags, subversive documents and assorted personal belongings.

In his statement, Brig. Gen. Adonis Ariel G. Orio, Commander of the 402nd Infantry Brigade, commanded the elements of the 23IB for returning to the headquarters without casualty while appealing to the NPA rebels to surrender and live peacefully. -0-
