CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Two killed, 19 others injured in two separate road mishaps in the past 24-hour in Cagayan de Oro City and Bukidnon, the police said Monday.
Om Monday, a motorist identified as Amerelio Oberto’s motorcycle collided a wing van truck in Lumbia, southwest of here, killing him on the spot.
Police said that Oberto was on his way to Talakag, Bukidnon when the fatal accident took place.
Police investigator had taken custody of the wing van truck driver identified as Avelino Palmes, Jr., 61, of Wao, Bukidnon, for questioning.
On Sunday, a mini-bus loaded with 47 passengers skidded and tilted along the highways of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, southeast of here killing a female passengee and injuring 19 others.
Pol. Maj. Carlito R. Chua, Jr., Chief id Manolo Fortich Police, identified the lone fatality as Perena Hagilay Salimbaon, 64, of Cabanglasan, Bukidnon.
The mini-bus driver identified as Anthony Cañete Monterola, of Miglamin, Malaybalay City Bukidnon, told the police that the mini-bus lost brake prompting him to maneuver the vehicle toward the side of the road where it tumbled to stop.
Monterola said that they were on their way home to Cabanglasan, Bukidnon, from a beach party in Opol, Misamis Oriental, when the accident occurred. -0-
