CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City – Personnel of the 1003rd Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10

(RMFB10) in coordination with the Damulog Municipal Police Station, Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Team, Provincial Highway Patrol Team–Bukidnon, 2nd Bukidnon Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the 1004th Maneuver Company, RMFB 10 successfully confiscated smuggled cigarettes and apprehended two individuals during a checkpoint operation at the Regional Border Control Point in Brgy. Omonay, Damulog, Bukidnon, on January 22, 2026.

During the operation, authorities flagged down an Elf van traveling from Tacurong, Sultan Kudarat, toward Cagayan de Oro City. The vehicle was driven by alias β€œAl,” 54 years old, married, and a resident of Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte, with alias β€œRenz,” 21 years old, single, and a resident of Sirawai, Zamboanga del Norte, acting as truck helper.

Upon inspection, the driver failed to present a valid driver’s license. When personnel requested the opening of the cargo compartment, they discovered several master cases of Canon White cigarettes in plain view, stacked inside the vehicle without the required government health warning stickers, prompting authorities to arrest the suspects.

Further information revealed that alias β€œAl” continued to drive despite not having a valid driver’s license, as it had previously been confiscated due to a traffic violation.

Confiscated during the operation were 63 master cases of Canon White brand cigarettes, with an estimated market value of PhP2,520,000.00.

Both apprehended individuals, together with the confiscated cigarettes and the vehicle, were brought to the Damulog Municipal Police Station for proper documentation. The seized items will subsequently be turned over to the Bureau of Customs in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, for appropriate disposition.

PBGEN CHRISTOPHER N ABRAHANO, Regional Director, PRO10, commended the coordinated and swift action of the operating units

β€œThe successful seizure and arrest highlight the vigilance and strong coordination of our operating units.
