Governor Juliette T. Uy presented a historic The Governor’s Report before the end of July 2026, highlighting the accomplishments of her first year in office to the people of the province.
Despite bad weather, many people still came to witness and listen to the achievements and milestones presented during the event.
The program began with a Holy Mass as a thanksgiving for the successful completion of the governor’s first year of service to the province.
“Sa isa ka tuig nga akong pagdumala, naningkamot kita nga atong nahatag ang tinuoray, epektibo, de-kalidad, ug walay hao siao nga serbisyo ug walay tacha sa kurapsyon. Bisan gubut ang kalibutan – dunay gyera, krimen, kagutom, ug mga lain-laing sakit nga nagpahasol sa atong seguridad. Apan dili kita magpa-apekto niining tanan. Ato hinoon tutukan ang kaayohan ug kasulbaran sa kahimtang sa atong probinsiya”, Uy said.
Governor Uy’s leadership is anchored on the BANGON development agenda, which reflects her commitment to public service and has been made possible through the unity and cooperation of all sectors.
Highlights of Accomplishments
Barangay Empowerment & Strengthening
Around ₱960 million worth of infrastructure projects were initiated in barangays, including farm-to-market roads, multi-purpose buildings, water systems, school buildings and other facilities.
These include the construction of school buildings in Balingasag, Medina, and El Salvador City, water systems in Balingasag and Alubijid, and various other development projects.
Appropriate Approach to Agriculture Development
The provincial government implemented farm mechanization by distributing tractors and composting facilities.
It also intensified the distribution of fertilizers, seeds, livestock, and fingerlings to farmers and fisherfolk.
Noble Health & Social Services Delivery
Healthcare and social services were prioritized through improvements in all provincial hospitals.
Essential medical equipment such as hospital beds, ECG machines, wheelchairs, and other healthcare necessities were distributed.
Good & Transparent Governance
The province collected over ₱282 million in local revenues from January to June 2026, representing a 66.5 percent increase compared with the same period last year.
Opportunity for All in Livelihood & Empowerment
Tourist arrivals increased by 9.67 percent in 2025, generating approximately ₱285.5 million in indirect tourism income.
Notable Programs for Youth Development
The provincial government strengthened support for education, sports and digital literacy.
Incentives were awarded to students who brought pride to Misamis Oriental by winning various competitions.
Sports equipment was distributed and sports facilities were upgraded.
Flagship Projects
Governor Uy also outlined the flagship projects that her administration will pursue as part of its legacy. These include the modernization of the Pelaez Sports Center, featuring plans for:
A multi-purpose building with commercial spaces
Indoor sports facilities
Dormitories
Function and conference halls
Renovation of the grandstand
Rehabilitation of the oval track
A multi-purpose swimming facility
Pickleball and tennis courts
A regional archery training center
A proposed 5,000-seat multi-purpose atrium and theater
Governor Uy concluded by urging everyone to continue fostering unity.
“Duyugi ako sa atong plano ug implementasyon sa mga proyekto, aron makab-ot ug mamahimong progresibo pa ang atong probinsya. I respectfully call on our members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to help our administration. Let us be partners in advancing the programs and reforms that our people deserve, ensuring that our collective efforts become a source of progress.
